The EZR curtain change system from concept to reality was a four-year journey. The demand for a better method of
changing Bedscreen curtains in healthcare, came from twenty years of installing Bedscreen tracking and the recognition of
issues brought to our attention by the end user.
The continual OHS issues bought to our attention were:
– Carrying and the use of EWP, such as Ladders or worse Foot stools or Chairs
– Staff having to reach above their heads continually to remove and refit curtains
– Carrying curtains while removing and replacing them.
– The time required to complete the task.
– Installing tracks within reach (210cm from finished floor) to enable the possibility of changing curtains without
EWP.
– Curtain change unit (if installed) is at the end of the track near bedhead.
– Showers/wet areas could not have a curtain change unit installed.
The EZRcurtainchange system was created to address all these issues.
– All actions to change curtains can be completed without any EWP, from any track height installation.
– Insert is removed with the use of a retraction tool, from finished floor, whether track height is 210cm or 300cm
– Changing of all curtains is done at waist height.
– Curtains can remain on trolley until walked or lifted into position with retraction tool, no reaching is required.
– Curtains are changed at a much faster rate, no climbing, no reaching, no falls.
– Tracks can be installed at a height which avoids Door/Track clashes, minimises Germ transfer, minimises earthing or tracks in cardiac area’s (above 240cm)
– EZR can be installed in showers/wet area’s.
– The EZR can be installed at any position along the track, foot of the bed being a preferred option within wards.
– The EZRcurtainchange system and most EZR components are AUSTRALIAN MADE.
Australian, USA and EU patents are either in place or in the process of being approved.
